I am really thankful that this week I have the honor of being invited to participate in #140conf, which I think of as the most prominent Twitter conference in the U.S.
I will be presenting on WED 6/20 at 9:05am on the subject of Phoneography: How mobily created, short-form multimedia has transformed a formerly lazy dad into a passionate camera phone artist. I am super excited about this opportunity to share my experiences of experimenting with these new forms of artistic expression and story-telling. You can watch the entire event live on Ustream at http://www.ustream.tv/nyc140conf
I have had one little blip in my plans, however. I just found out that the friend I have stayed with in the past in Manhattan has moved, and although he is still generously offering for me to couch-surf at his apartment, I am concerned that the increased distance from the venue (The 92nd Street Y in Manhattan) will cause transportation problems for me, as I will not have a car.
I am wondering if anyone can help out with a place to stay? All I need is somewhere to lie down and sleep — even a floor will do. Taking a shower or two would be lovely, but at this point, that seems like a luxury. I do not currently have the funds to pay for a room at $140/night, but I would be able to contribute if somebody wouldn’t mind a roommate at a hotel.
If you read this and are not able to hook me up with a sleeping arrangement, could you please help by forwarding this message on to your own social network? If you or somebody you know would be able to assist, you can also leave a message in the comments section below, tweet me, or email me at: mouselink at gmail dot com.
Thanks so much!
Be well, Matteo
