image

For the past five years I have managed social media and Internet marketing efforts for the Carriage House Cafe here in Ithaca, New York. Because we were the tip of the spear during that time, Your News Now in Syracuse did a piece on me and the CHC’s use of Twitter. This evening news story was seen by an executive at Ithaca College who got in touch with me, and invited me to sit on a social media panel discussion for local business people at the Chamber of Commerce.

That started the ball rolling, and my life hasn’t been the same since.

It’s one thing to have a lot of likes on Facebook or followers on Twitter, but how many people are actually seeing and responding to your posts? I rescued him from a slow-motion highway crossing.
Thank you all for the encouragement! It’s been a difficult beginning this spring. Today I repeated my commute into Ithaca. New challenges: slightly more gear, and also it was raining steadily all morning, which is more of a psychological barrier than anything else. However, I managed to dodge the storms, and I didn’t get wet at all.

Just a little biking update

My second bike ride into Ithaca this year, and the first time I’ve carried all my gear (15-20 lbs?), which makes a significant difference going over the hills. 14.6 miles today for a total of 38.3 miles this week — my best week so far this year. I have just completed over 800 miles since I bought this bike last summer.
